The 2020/2021 season of winter maintenance is coming to an end. This year’s winter has shown that the problems of winter maintenance are still present, and in some cases they may be even greater than in the previous years. Rapid changes in weather conditions resulting from the climate change are the cause for the standards in winter maintenance to be modified. Those used nowadays are still an up-to-date topic, which the Polish Road Congress has decided to introduce to their regular events.
The aim of the conference is the knowledge and experience exchange between the central European countries like Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria and Poland regarding the prevalent changes in weather conditions, as well as the presentation of the way the winter maintenance standards have been used this season. Without any doubt the modifications in German winter maintenance system are a good reason for this discussion. Participants from individual countries will present their own winter maintenance standards. Moreover, winter maintenance companies, equipment and material suppliers will also share their experience.
