“Safe Roads of Future” in Mikolajki

VI Warmian-Masurian Forum Road "Safe Roads of the Future" will be held on September 22-24th in the town of Mikolajki. Registration opens soon.

The event is organized by the Regional Roads Authority in Olsztyn and the Polish Road Congress – the National Committee od World Road Association PIARC. This year, the Conference’s main topic will be road safety in many aspects. Special session will be dedicated to discuss actions within Vision Zero framework or new technical regulations for road safety. During the event the effects of National Road Safety Programme for period of 2013-2020 in Poland will be discussed. Conference agenda will also include issues like safety of the vulnerable road users, safety education, the importance of proper lighting, work zones safety, standards of the horizontal marking from the point of view of road safety. Another important point of the conference will be discussion about a specific problem in the region, the disproportionately high mortality rate due to accidents involving the crashes with roadside trees in this region of Poland.

During the conference a simulation of a traffic accident is scheduled. That will be an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the system of emergency rescue actions with the support of the road maintenance services.

It is expected that the conference will be attended by over 200 participants from Poland and abroad. Languages of the congress are Polish and English, with simultaneous translation provided.

The location of the conference is also worth mentioning. Mikolajki, Warmia @ Mazury Region in northern-eastern Poland.
